IfState at Saltsprint 2026¶

Last week I participated at SaltSprint 2026 to discuss declarative network configuration in NixOS. We had an in-depth discussion about how IfState works and how it differs from imperative network configurations. The migration of a scripted networking to IfState with a full blown FRR-based EVPN setup was achieved in a proof of concept and it did just work out of the box. 💪

In return, IfState got a large pull request improving its Python packaging and CI tooling. And there is a commitment for further contributions. ❤️
